Article Marketing Works - Simple As That!
Written by Marie on February 29, 2008 – 9:41 pm -I am sure that many of you have noticed the new little feature on the side of the blog. In case you hadn’t, take a look at the far sidebar. This is something new that works in effect like a tip jar. I thought that it was pretty cool, so have decided to add it here and see what happens.
What it is, is a place for anyone who appreciates your blog or what you have written to leave you a “tip”. In return, they get a link to their site from your blog. This is actually a very good idea, as it can get the reader some of their own traffic - and you can make a bit more than a couple cents a click on an ad! You can set it up to be whatever you want for a tip - in this case it is $4.00 and you get a link. As each new link is added, yours moves down.
I thought it was something that was worth trying out - so if you want to be the first to give it a go, just click on the link. You will be rewarded with a nice visible link to your own site! And, if you want to put one of these on your own site, there is a link there for that as well.
I also wanted to talk today about some great results I had with a couple articles I wrote and submitted to Ezine articles this past week. I did some research, and decided to see what would happen with a niche that I found. I didn’t want to invest a whole lot of time into it if it wasn’t going to pay off, so I quickly put up a blogger blog with one page of content. Then, I wrote just 2 articles targeting a couple of keyword phrases I found.
The articles were accepted to EZA on Saturday, and by Monday I had the 1st position on Google for one of the keyword phrases, and 2nd position for the other! I have to tell you that I was completely blown away by that. I had always heard that there was power in articles - and especially in ones submitted to EZA.
So, if you were having doubts…….personally, I don’t know if I will worry too much about submitting to other directories right now. I will focus on giving my absolute best articles to EZA, and hope they keep giving me the great results!

Article Marketing Case Study
Written by Marie on December 14, 2007 – 1:46 pm -I have been busy the past few days getting articles written and submitting them to article directories. So far, I have researched a couple of niches that I hope will bring good results and built small sites for them. I have written a few articles and submitted them to Ezine Articles. I have just started to rewrite them a bit and submit them to another article directory.
What I didn’t realize, is that you can have as many names as you need in Ezine Articles. This is good because you can write and not reveal your niches. So, I set up 2 different pen names for the niches and submitted under their names. The problem was that when I went to submit to other directories, you obviously want to find ones that also allow you to do this. I have started submitting to Articles Base, which lets you have other author names as well. So, I will let you know how it goes.
I have done some article marketing in the past, but I have never kept up with it to see what kind of results I could actually get. Ezine Articles is amazing - I had clicks through to my site and articles published by other sites right away, which has brought some nice traffic. Now I am working on optimizing my sites to get the sales!
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that it does work, if you are willing to work at it. It is free, but it does take some work. Writing articles isn’t hard once you get going, and they don’t need to be pages long either. If you really don’t enjoy writing - outsource it! If you can get enough articles out there, with some good keywords, you will see results - so keep putting them out!
I mentioned finding keywords, which if you are on my list you will have recieved a download link to a keyword research tool. All you need to do is type in your main keyword you are targeting. Then, you need to “find keywords” and you will get any relevant results. After you have some keywords that have some searches each day, you will want to “gather data”. This shows you the competing numbers for Google, Yahoo and MSN. So far, I have been trying to write articles with keywords that have under 50,000 competing numbers, but you need to decide for yourself how many you want to compete with.
When you write your articles, make them exciting - and give the reader just enough for them to want to click through to your site to get some more information. Use your keyword in the title, first paragraph and last paragraph at least - if you can get it to flow properly. Don’t stuff your article with keywords! Make it readable, and you will get more clicks to your site.
I will keep pushing forward with this and keep you posted as to results that I am getting. If you want to join me, find a couple niches you can try and get some articles written. Start submitting, and try submitting at least one a day. We can compare results after a few weeks!
I also want to mention that I have a WSO running for the “Lessons For A Newbie” ebook, as well as one for PLR articles on setting goals and depression - relating to the holidays. There is also a report that I wrote to encourage those who are starting out online which I am also offering PLR rights to. You can take any of these and add your name to them. You will find them at:

Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you! Keep working, and you will get there!
